Lulie Chic Boutique is a great Etsy store for mom’s of girls, or if there’s a special girl (or big sister!) in your life.  Julie is based out of Ottawa and she creates hair accessories for every occasion!  There are bows in every style and size, in patterns and solid colours, for any outfit you can imagine.

Lulie Chic Boutique has recently added headbands to their store and that’s what I reviewed.  I chose the monkey bow headband because 1) it’s adorable and 2) since it has monkey’s on it, I knew my daughter would love it!

I love that the headbands are made of very soft, stretchy material that doesn’t have any metal to get hair caught in.  The listing says that it fits up to an adult but I haven’t actually tried it on myself so I’ll just take her word for it.  Ashlyn isn’t a hair clip girl most of the time, but in the last couple of weeks she’s become obsessed with wearing this headband!  I think it’s partly because it’s cute (and my girl loves accessories) and partly because it’s something that she can put on and take off all by herself, which is huge for a toddler!  When she’s not wearing it as a headband, it becomes a necklace.

And this is how it looks when she does it herself; it’s a little 80′s rocker chic but she’s so proud of herself when she gets it on I don’t have the heart to fix it! (ps – that face is what I get when I ask her to smile for the camera.  Good times!)

Lulie Decor Designs may look like a new Etsy store, but don’t be fooled – this is a spin-off store of Lulie Chic Boutique (who will also be featured on the Baby Shower Event) and has sold over 100 frames with 100% feedback in that shop.  Lulie Decor Designs focuses on “beautiful and unique personalized picture frames to celebrate weddings, babies, and the relationships we share with our loved ones” and was even featured on on “15 Fresh Handmade Gift Ideas” (November 26, 2010) on HGTV for their Rhinestone Personalized Baby Girl Keepsake Picture Frame!

For review, I chose the 4×6 Green Leaf Personalized Family Keepsake Picture Frame.  I love the colours and the quote, “Other things may change but we always start and end with family”.  Laura was great to work with; since the name and quote are totally customizable, she sends out a proof before she makes each frame to make sure that all of the names are spelled correctly.

Our frame is living on our fireplace mantel, and currently has a picture of the 3 of us in it that was taken at Christmas, but I’m looking forward to putting in a picture of our family of 4 in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

Little Threads by Rebecca is an Etsy store that makes a personal weakness of mine – sweet little baby hats!  Since babies should wear hats when it’s cool (or downright cold, as it is right now), they should be as cute as possible, right?  Rebecca has turned her hobby – or perhaps it’s an obsession – with crocheting into a store with loads of cute things that make perfect gifts for new little babies or their older siblings!

For review, I chose Rebecca’s most popular item, the Little Monkey Hat in chocolate and light beige (as pictured below).  There is something irresistible about a baby in a hat that has ears!  I chose this hat because it was gender neutral enough that I’m happy to have Sprout wear it regardless of if we have a boy or a girl. 

That being said, had we found out that Sprout will be a girl you can bet I would have ordered the version with the bow.  How cute is that?

I love the long braided ties that look cute done up or left lose, and the hat is so soft that I kind of wish I had one in my size – which, FYI, you can order.  Rebecca is always happy to do custom work, so if there’s something that you have in mind that you don’t see in her store just send her a conversation and she’ll see what she can do!

Lil Divas Bowtique is an Etsy store with a focus on cute organization for your kids!  Mitten clips, bow and hat holders, belt buddies and more, their motto is “turning clutter into cute” and it shows.

For review, I was sent a Sophie leash in the Cutesy Owls print.  While it’s called a “Sophie leash”, even if you don’t have the beloved giraffe (and shockingly, it’s one of the few toys that we didn’t get for our daughter) you can still find plenty of uses for it. 
I love the idea behind this – no more toys dropped onto dirty floors when you’re out shopping, no sippy cups thrown to the ground; instead, attach one end to the toy/cup/etc and the other to the stroller/high chair/your child’s wrist and you’re good to go. There are 2 snap settings for the non-toy end so it will fit on almost anything!

For review, I was sent a Teal Leaves sleep sack in size 12-24 months.  The fabric is . . . → Read More: Twice As Nice Boutique – review & giveaway]]> Twice As Nice Boutique is an Etsy store run by a mom, and it shows!  Karen makes quality sleep sacks in gorgeous fabrics that rival any that you can find in a baby boutique, but without the huge price tag.

For review, I was sent a Teal Leaves sleep sack in size 12-24 months.  The fabric is gorgeous, and it’s fully lined with a matching teal flannel which keeps Ashlyn cozy without overheating.  This is a great weight for all seasons, as far as I can tell – it wouldn’t be too hot in the summer (except on the very hottest days, but we would have the air conditioning on so I still liked her to be in a sleep sack) and would be warm enough with a heavier pair of jammies in the winter.   As you can see, Ashlyn was thrilled to try it out the first night!

The first thing that I noticed was that the zipper zips down, which is such a key thing for us!  Ashlyn has recently learned how to work a zipper and we had problems with her unzipping the sack before she’s fall asleep and waking up cold.  This way, the zip is at the bottom of the sack when it’s done up and she’s not tempted to fiddle with it while she falls asleep!

Another unusual feature is that all of the sleep sacks have a slit in the back so that you can safely put your child in the sack, then fasten them into their carseat, without having to worry about excess fabric compromising the safety of the carseat.  I’ve never seen this feature before and I can see it being handy, especially on long car trips.  Now, I do have to mention that one night, my little Houdini did manage to get her foot through the slit, but she’s not done it since and it wasn’t a big problem for us.

If you’re a crafty mama, Karen sells patterns so you can make your own, and she’s more than happy to do custom orders if there is a particular size/colour that you’d like, but isn’t currently in stock.
