Since moving to Ottawa 4.5 years ago, I have been very fortunate to make some amazing friends who have become like family to me. I know it's all holidays all the time around my blog, and quite frankly in my life too, but it's fun to take some time as a family and do something that isn't necessarily related to Christmas. We have always had a great time at Disney Live! performances (we've seen Mickey's Rockin' Road Show in 2011 and 2014) so we're all looking forward to a whole new experience with Disney Live! Mickey's Music Festival!

Winter has arrived here in Ottawa, and after 3 days of cold I am almost ready to dig out some games that I have set aside for Christmas just to give us something new and fun to do! My friends at a Wonder Forge sent a board game for each of my daughters that I know they'll love. I love board games because they can teach so many things while you play, and the really fun board games inspire all sorts of imaginative play and 'house rules' that really keep things interesting!

I can never predict which doll will become a favourite in our house. Ashlyn has had her special doll, Flower Baby, since she was 2. Flower Baby is a snuggly baby with a plastic head, which is great for playing Mommy. However, Ashlyn is starting to play in more mature ways now, acting out social situations and trying out new ways to behave, and she wants a doll that is more like her to play with: a young girl, not a baby or a grown up.
