RECIPES FOR LIFE: My Memories (giveaway)

I love to find new recipes to try, especially in unexpected places.  “RECIPES FOR LIFE: My Memories” by Linda Evans combines stories from her life as an actress (you probably remember her best as Krystle Carrington on “Dynasty”) with the recipes that remind her of those times.  I’m dying to try out some from John Wayne! Recipes for Life is Linda’s second book and you can purchase a copy here.  You can also enter to win one of three copies at the bottom of this post! Linda’s book will Read more […]

Lil Punkin Creations (giveaway)

I have such a weakness for Etsy stores, especially ones that are run by moms.  Lil Punkin Creations is based out of Wisconsin and was started by Julie, a very busy working mom with a little boy who was the inspiration for her store’s name.  Lil Punkin Creations sells wooden and paper banners as well as my new favourite decor item, vinyl decals! Not limiting herself to walls, Julie has a whole line of decals that have been created just for your kitchen mixer! I recieved the swirl flourishes Read more […]

CR Boutique (giveaway)

CR Boutique is a proudly Canadian (based in Edmonton AB) online store.  Caylee started out as an Ebay store but the demand was so high that she was able to branch out into her own domain.  With a wide variety of products for women, kids and the home this is a store you should keep in mind for – gulp – Christmas shopping. For review, Caylee was nice enough to send Ashlyn her very own suitcase!  We do a lot of travelling to visit our far-flung family and friends, and Ashlyn is getting old Read more […]

Wholesale Halloween Costumes

Fall is in the air and with the neighbourhood kids back to school, the talk on the playground has changed from which splash pad to visit to what costume to pick for Halloween!   Ashlyn hasn’t let me pick out her daily clothes in a good six months, so I knew I couldn’t just pick a costume and give it to her and expect it to go over well.  Instead, we looked together at the girls Disney costumes from Wholesale Halloween Costumes to find just the right one. Since one of her longest obsessions Read more […]

Back to School with Hello Kitty

Back to school time means finding ways to keep the kids moving in the morning!  Sparkle Bee from Marino Andriani has lots of items that make the morning fun. Even though Ashlyn isn’t in school yet, she still needs some motivation to get moving on the mornings that we have a class or playdate.  She has a hard time sitting still to get her “pony hair” (that’s pigtails to the rest of us) done so we were happy to try out the Hello Kitty Lighted Make-Up Mirror. It is recommended for ages 12+ Read more […]
