School hasn’t even started for us yet and my daughters are already having daily discussions about when we can go to the pumpkin patch and what they want to dress up as for Halloween. It’s the next big holiday and PBS Kids has Halloween covered with DVDs featuring old favourites and some new (to us, at least) friends! “Caillou’s Halloween” -There are a whopping 13 episodes on this DVD. Have your Cup O’ Coffee a new way with LUSH

Two of my favourite things have come together: LUSH  and coffee! LUSH has a new whole-body scrub called Cup O’ Coffee and I was more than happy to give it a try. This smooth blend face and body mask has organic agave syrup inside to leave your skin feeling sweet and exfoliating coffee grounds Read more […]

Maplelea Girls have a new look!

A Maplelea Girls doll first entered our home at Christmas, when Saila was received as a very special gift. Ashlyn has been asking for Saila’s dogs, Nukilik and Nanuq, ever since she saw Read more […]

Super WHY: Cinderella and other fairytale adventures (#giveaway)

PBS Kids has recently released “Super WHY: Cinderella and other fairytale adventures” on DVD, and my daughters were more than happy to review the copy that we were sent. Super WHY is a series that we have enjoyed in our home for years because the girls think it’s fun to watch (it is) and I love how they use Word Power, Spelling Power and Alphabet Power to engage children while teaching them. There are 5 episodes included on the DVD: “Cinderella: The Prince’s Side of the Story” Red and Read more […]

Meet the Doozers (#giveaway)

I think that all parents can relate to this confession: I steer my daughters towards television shows and movies that I like to watch too, or at least can tolerate in the background. If a character is whiny, rude or sings a really catchy but annoying song, I will do my best to squash that interest. The girls had seen a few episodes of Doozers on television and we all enjoyed it, but it was a tricky show to catch and often our PVR would miss the beginning or ending of the short episodes. I was quite Read more […]
