Ashlyn is really into winter for some reason this year. I’m not a fan of the cold, but I remember how much I loved skating when I was little so after a trip to a used sporting good store to get myself and Ashlyn some skates, we headed out one mild Saturday afternoon to have some family fun. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but somehow over the past couple of weeks a new motto seems to have taken hold my brain. Things are getting easier, in some respects at least, in our family life. On Sunday morning, the girls were eager to get outside and play in our first dusting of snow. (yes, they’re playing ‘hockey’ with golf clubs) Then they woke up to this today: Ashlyn was off to school despite the bus cancellations, delighted to be able to play with her friends outside in all of this wonderful snow at recess.
