My word for 2015 is ‘thoughtful’

I know I’ve said it before but I’m just not a New Year’s resolutions kind of girl. Now that we’re nearing the end of January, how many of you are still even thinking of your resolutions? I am on a few online forums and on one of them, a poster mentioned an idea from Christine Kane that really resonated with me: “Pick a word for the year. Just one word. That’s all. Then, hold that word in your mind throughout the year, and let your word guide you to take action.” I’ve decided on “thoughtful” Read more […]

How to host a cookie decorating party without losing your mind

I know, it’s a little late for me to be posting tips on this topic, but a cookie decorating party could still be lots of fun after Christmas. This year it was just the girls and I and we remembered to bring our own orange slices to try and entice some butterflies to land in our hands. The girls found the experience to be magical! The rest of the week has been a blur Read more […]

Mommy’s home alone

It seemed like this day would never come, and yet here I am, sitting in silence. For the first time since I became a mom 5.5 years ago, I will have some child-free time during the day. Ashlyn is at school all day and today Rowan started her one morning a week at nursery school. I expected to really enjoy the silence, but I’m missing my little companions! I’ve decided to make this time productive by using it to volunteer at Ashlyn’s school library starting next week. I’ve put a lot of time Read more […]
