March Break in Ottawa 2017

It’s that time again in Ottawa – March Break is March 13-17, 2017 (that’s next week)! Here are some suggestions for things to do in Ottawa (or wherever you live)! I will always suggest the library first! The Ottawa Public Library has free activities for kids of all ages at all of their branches, and if you have a library card for your child, you can register them online. If you don’t, head over to your nearest branch and get one! When you’re done, you can also pick up some new books and Read more […]

Picture books for snuggly days

Picked up season 1 of Fargo after watching the movie for the first time last weekend (shameful, I know!) and walked out with a stack of books, many from our favourite authors and illustrators, for my girls. One week down and our fall bucket list

We’ve all survived our first full week back at school! If you follow @NotJstBabyBrain on Instagram then you’ve seen our first day of school pictures, huge backpacks and all. Summer Countdown

At this time next week, I’ll be walking my daughters to school. The big one is starting grade 2, the little one will be going into senior kindergarten, and I’ll be starting my final semester of my college diploma. It seems impossible that our summer is almost over already! There are so many things that we wanted to do but seem to have run out of time for: I’ve only taken the girls to the beach once this year, never did check out a different beach that has an ice cream boat, never bought ice cream Read more […]

March Break Ideas to Keep the Whole Family Happy

If you live in Ontario and have children, odds are good that your kids have next week off for March Break! This is the first year that I’ve been taking daytime classes at Algonquin College, so it’s also the first year that I’m having to make plans around my schedule (since postsecondary students get their Reading Week in February) instead of just filling up the week with fun activities for my daughters. Luckily, my husband has vacation time that he needs to take so we’ll be off together for the Read more […]
