Just last week, I posted about how I needed some new Christmas music to really get into a festive spirit. Then yesterday, the lovely Feisty, Frugal and Fabulous did a Wordless Wednesday post that mentioned a Glee Christmas CD. I’m a total Gleek, so I was very excited to hear about it.

I’ve started my baking and have a list of more goodies to bake this weekend (check back next week for some of my favourite recipes), my nuts & bolts have been made and are mostly gone already, and I’m hoping to get my Christmas tree up on Saturday or Sunday. It’s beginning to feel and . . . → Read More: Getting in the Christmas spirit

This video combines so many of my favourite things: Christmas, flash mobs, malls. It was filmed at the Welland Seaway Mall (I’ve shopped there!) on November 13 and it totally made me cry – I’m blaming the pregnancy hormones. Sadly, this is all of the Halloween decorating that we’ve done. I go all out for Christmas and usually my husband does for Halloween, but most of our outside decorations haven’t survived two moves (and two provinces) and we just haven’t picked up anything here. I think I’ll be making a trip to Shoppers . . . → Read More: Halloween decorations

I know we haven’t even reached Halloween yet, but I’ve got Christmas on the brain already. I’ve already started my baking (look for some great posts coming over the next month and a bit of my standby recipes and some new ones that I’ll be trying out) and have started brainstorming ideas for various . . . → Read More: Christmas on the brain?

I really missed the bright colours of fall when we lived in northern Alberta. Here in Ottawa the trees are turning beautiful, vibrant shades of red and orange, there’s a nip in the air but the sun is still shining. I love being back!

To all my fellow Canadians, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with all the trimmings! I’m looking forward to spending time with family and to enjoying a fantastic meal since this baby is allowing me to actually enjoy food, unlike last time around. My favourite part is the stuffing, how . . . → Read More: Happy Thanksgiving!

My good friend’s dog got away from her on Thursday night, and they still can’t find her. Please, if you are in the St John area, keep your eyes open for a black/tan brindle pit bull in the uptown area, who is very friendly but shy, with no tags or collar (the pup got . . . → Read More: Lost dog in St John, New Brunswick
