I got the first two books of the Millenium Trilogy for Christmas (since the Virgo in me prefers my books to match, and the last one isn’t out in paperback yet) and I cannot put it down. I’m about halfway through and let me tell you, my Christmas tree is in no . . . → Read More: Wordless Wednesday – The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

I hate birds. Maybe it’s Hitchcock’s fault, maybe it’s from reading The Dark Half by Stephen King, but birds just freak me out. I don’t trust them – nothing should be able to poop on you from above. So hearing that they’re falling from the sky en masse is the stuff of nightmares for me.

Here we are on the 10th of January, and my Christmas tree is still fully decorated and hanging out in my living room. I’ve been talking about taking it down since the first but somehow I just can’t quite do it.

Just last week, I posted about how I needed some new Christmas music to really get into a festive spirit. Then yesterday, the lovely Feisty, Frugal and Fabulous did a Wordless Wednesday post that mentioned a Glee Christmas CD. I’m a total Gleek, so I was very excited to hear about it.
Then today, while shopping at . . . → Read More: Do you hear what I hear?

I’ve started my baking and have a list of more goodies to bake this weekend (check back next week for some of my favourite recipes), my nuts & bolts have been made and are mostly gone already, and I’m hoping to get my Christmas tree up on Saturday or Sunday. It’s beginning to feel and . . . → Read More: Getting in the Christmas spirit

This video combines so many of my favourite things: Christmas, flash mobs, malls. It was filmed at the Welland Seaway Mall (I’ve shopped there!) on November 13 and it totally made me cry – I’m blaming the pregnancy hormones. In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and . . . → Read More: Lest We Forget
