Here’s to 2017!

20172016 was some kind of year! While there were so many tragic, disappointing and upsetting public events and deaths, personally it was actually quite a good year. My little family is thriving, we welcomed a new nephew (my brother’s first child and the first boy cousin on either side of our families), I’ve taken up running and am quite likely in the best shape and health I’ve ever been, and I’ve completed my college diploma! Now comes the nerve-wracking part: job hunting. I’ve successfully joined two of the school board library technician supply/casual rosters which is an important first step, so keep your fingers crossed for me that a permanent position comes up at some point!

2016 was my Year of Yoda and I have to say, it’s going to be hard to top “Do. Or do not. There is no try.” for a motto. It has really made me more accountable for my time and actions over the past year. I’m going to think about it for a few days and see if I can come up with a new guiding phrase, or if maybe I’ll just keep it!

Thanks for reading Not Just Baby Brain, and all the best to all of you in 2017!

Sounds like 2017 will be an exciting year for you! Working in a school library must be so much fun! I like the idea of creating a year motto. Something to think about tonight! Happy New Year!
