Ah, spring. One moment it’s cold and rainy, the next it’s hot and humid and you need to escape to the basement to cool off. PBS Kids has new releases from Daniel Tiger, Caillou, Wild Kratts and Peg + Cat to add a little learning to your child’s down time.
- “Peg + Cat: Super Peg and Cat Guy” – Look! Up in the sky! It’s Super Peg and Cat Guy, here to protect the citizens of Mathtropolis. Explore basic math and geometry concepts as Super Peg and Cat Guy solve the city’s problems. When these two friends put their minds together, they find that it’s super fun to use math to save the day! Running for 50 minutes, this DVD retails for $6.99.
- “Wild Kratts: Wild Animal Babies” – Explore nature, discover amazing animals, and meet wild animal babies with the Wild Kratts! Join Martin Kratt and Chris Kratt as they learn about the unique ways young animals are raised and protected by their parents. In select adventures on this DVD, the crew helps an adorable (and majorly destructive) baby elephant stay out of trouble, wrangles some playful lion cubs, and more! It’s adventure at its most adorable! Running for 88 minutes, this DVD retails for $12.99.
- “Caillou’s Pet Parade” – Caillou loves learning to care for different types of animals. The lessons that Caillou learns from his encounters with animals teach him how to help his neighbors, his parents, and his grandparents care for their pets. Caillou’s inquisitive nature makes him an ideal pet helper! Running for 95 minutes, this DVD retails for $12.99.
- “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: Daniel Goes Camping – It’s a beautiful night in Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood! Bring your jammies and come along as Daniel Tiger camps outdoors for the first time and experiences everything that makes nighttime special. From twinkling stars and playing with flashlights, to singing “Goodnight Sun,” there’s something magical and wondrous about the night! Running for 60 minutes, this DVD retails for $9.99.
As usual, Peg + Cat and the Wild Kratts are the favourites in our home. I love how many random animal facts my daughters have learned from the Kratt brothers, and you can’t lose by sneaking some fun math into a super hero show! You can find PBS Kids on Facebook and on Twitter at @PBSKids.
