#Girlsweekend at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello

Fairmont Le Château Montebello

As I mentioned last week, I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with two of my oldest friends, both named Amy (one is the fabulous Amy in 613, the other is a saint – ok, a high school teacher, but I believe that’s basically the same thing) at the gorgeous Fairmont Le Château Montebello in Quebec over the weekend. As you can see in their picture above, the grounds are nothing short of stunning when you pull in!

Our room was perfect for the three of us, with two double beds, a desk (which we used as a buffet), a sizable closet and a small bar fridge which kept our wine nicely chilled. We were even sent a very sweet welcome treat! I took the shot below from one of the many windows in the tunnel from the main hotel to the health club on Sunday morning. I don’t think there is a bad view to be had in the entire resort!

The Fairmont Le Château Montebello was booked to capacity, but it never felt crowded and the staff was always friendly and accommodating. There are many activities and services on site, including a 4,000-square-feet, full-service Fairmont spa that looked and smelled amazing when we checked it out briefly, but to be honest, our focus was on these two places: the fireplace and the pool/hot tub.

We basically did a room-pool-fireplace circuit. No matter the time of day, the fireplace was a hot commodity and it took us a little while to snag a couch, but it was worth the wait! My picture doesn’t do the scale of this magnificent fireplace justice, so check out this one taken by the Fairmont Le Château Montebello themselves.

That’s right, 360 degrees of fireplace comfort. It was the perfect place to sit and chat, play cards and have a drink. On Sunday morning, we all ventured down to the pool before having a lovely mini-buffet breakfast – try the maple butter crepes, you won’t regret it! – and taking a quick walk around the grounds. I know that there were so many activities that we could have done, and I would love to bring my family back in the summer to take advantage of more of what the Fairmont Le Château Montebello has to offer, but that 24 hours of relaxation with my friends was exactly what I needed to come back, recharged and ready to take on what this new month has to throw at me!

Disclosure: I was given a media rate at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello to facilitate this feature. All opinions are always my own!

Thanks for your comment, Terra! We had so much fun that it’s definitely on the list for a repeat visit next year :)
