It’s no secret that I love my coffee, so when I had the opportunity to review the new Ninja Coffee Bar, I jumped at it! You may have seen the commericals, which feature Sofia Vergara, as she tells her former barista that now she can make all those fancy coffees at home for a fraction of the price. I am not a huge fan of the individual coffee making machines, and we have a ‘fancy’ coffee maker that we’ve been using since we got it as a wedding present 8.5 years ago so I was very interested to see how the Ninja Coffee Bar stacked up.
The Ninja Coffee Bar comes with everything that you see in the picture on the left:
- Hot and cold tumbler with a straw
- 8-cup glass carafe
- Removable water tank
- Recipe book
- Coffee measuring scoop
Using their patent-pending Thermal Flavor Extraction™ Technology, you can control the strength and temperature of your coffee to brew it just the way you like it, in just the quantity that you want. There are 4 size options: cup (9.5 oz if you make a classic brew), travel (14 oz), half carafe and full carafe. My favourite feature is that you can make a perfect coffee-house style cappuccino by using the ‘specialty brew’ option and the milk frother. I have issues making a good frothed milk using our ‘fancy’ coffee maker, but the milk always turns out perfect when I use the Ninja frother!
I also really like that it comes with a reusable filter, and you can use your own coffee. No expensive pods that make tiny cups of coffee here! Just the coffee you love every morning, made better than you’re used to in the comfort of your own home. I’m excited to try the iced coffee recipes in the summer but since it’s cold here now, I’m sticking to a cup of perfectly brewed, hot coffee. The Ninja Coffee Bar is available online and in many North American stores such as Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
