Winter is definitely on it’s way, but for now our sidewalks are clear and we’re trying to stay active outdoors as much as possible. The bikes have been put away in anticipation of the snow that we will surely see soon but we have a fun new toy to use: a Rockboard Original Scooter. The Rockboard Original Scooter comes fully assembled. All I had to do was take it out of the box, set the handles up (they fold down for storage) and adjust the handles to the correct height.
If you are not familiar with the Rockboard Original Scooter, it can be ridden two ways. The first is as a conventional kick scooter, while the second is where it gets the name “Rockboard”. When the scooter is in rock mode, you use propel the scooter forward by having both feet on the board and rocking back and forth. Both legs get an aerobic workout and you have to keep your balance. I won’t lie, I felt a little silly on it myself but it was so much fun that I’ll be riding it again!
Rockboard Original Scooter sells for a suggested retail price of $199.99 on their website, but there is a green and black version currently on sale at Target for $99.99 and it’s now 20% off of that price for a sale price of $79.99! It is recommended for ages 8+ and I think that’s accurate; I think my 6 year old could definitely work it as a regular scooter but the propulsion would be too hard for her on a Rockboard of this size and weight. They do have a Rockboard Mini Scooter that is for ages that I’m keeping in mind for next spring!
Disclosure: I was sent a Rockboard Original Scooter to facilitate this review post. All opinions expressed are always my own!
