Encouraging girls to take an interest in S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics)-based activities is a big thing right now. I find it kind of funny, because I was always good at math and science as a kid (lets not talk about statistics in university, ok?) and never reHmember anyone having the audacity to tell me that I shouldn’t have excelled in those topics because I was a girl, but I also recognize that not all girls are that fortunate. I’m also a big fan of toys that encourage creativity, imagination and exploration, especially when they’re so fun that my daughters don’t realize how much they are learning while they play! My friends at MGA Entertainment sent me one of their Project Mc2 doll and it ticks all of those boxes and more.
Meet Bryden Bandweth, who is known as “The Tech Genius”. Her motto is “Stand back…I’m trending!” and you can buy the core doll or a set that includes an experiment (seen above)! I received the Project Mc2™ Bryden’s Glow Stick Doll. My daughters will be able to take the tube provided, add tonic water from our kitchen, turn on the UV light on the cap, and make any day vibrant with their own glow stick!
The Project Mc2 dolls are a little taller than your average fashion doll, so she won’t be able to share clothes with the other residents of our play room. The Project Mc2 website has all sorts of great extras, from “missions” (short questionnaires and quizzes that pertain to the product line) to games and science experiements. They also have a show on Netflix that I look forward to introducing my daughters to. The Project Mc2 line includes dolls, doll accessories, and different craft and science kits to encourage your daughter to get her S.T.E.A.M. on!
Disclosure: I was sent a Project Mc2 doll to facilitate this review post. All opinions expressed are always my own!
One lucky reader will win a Project Mc2 doll (specific doll subject to availability) from MGA Entertainment!
