A common New Year’s resolution is to eat better. After a month or so of Christmas baking and celebrations and treats, I know I’m looking for easy ways to add more healty food into our routine. As I look at the snow that is falling and the ever-growing piles of white stuff covering the ground, I am really missing the inexpensive and fresh fruit from the summer! I was sent a Nutri Ninja Pro to try out and it turns out that a good smoothie is just what we need to feel that hint of summer again.
The Nutri Ninja Plus comes with everything that you see above:
- 24 oz. Nutri Ninja™ cup for multiple servings
- 18 oz. Nutri Ninja™ cup for personalized drinks
- 2 Sip & Seal™ Lids for personalized drinks & meals on the go
The Nutri Ninja Pro has a powerful 900 watt motor and the PRO Extractor Blades break down whole fruits, vegetables, and ice. We have a standard sized blender but I found that it didn’t work well for making a smoothie snack because it wasn’t full enough. Now that we have an individual-sized blender, my daughters frequently request a smoothie after school and I’m always happy to comply!
Our favourite combination is a handful of frozen strawberries (we’re using up the ones that we picked in the summer, but I have some frozen bags of berries from the grocery store on standby), a handful of frozen wild blueberries from New Brunswick, about half a cup of plain greek yogurt (bonus: protein!) and a banana. You just screw the blade on to the cup, place the whole thing on the base, pulse for a minute or two and then spoon into cups and enjoy!
