It seemed like this day would never come, and yet here I am, sitting in silence. For the first time since I became a mom 5.5 years ago, I will have some child-free time during the day. Ashlyn is at school all day and today Rowan started her one morning a week at nursery school.
I expected to really enjoy the silence, but I’m missing my little companions! I’ve decided to make this time productive by using it to volunteer at Ashlyn’s school library starting next week. I’ve put a lot of time and effort into the library technician courses that I’ve been taking part-time over the last 2 years, so I thought this would be a great way to make sure I’ll actually be a good fit for the job I’d like to have at the end of this diploma!
It’s so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that we’re almost at the next stage of life. No more babies, no more toddlers; next year we will be the proud parents of two school-aged kids! I hope they always have this level of enthusiasm for school!
