It’s been a week since we saw Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show and my daughters are still talking about what a great time they had! We ended up arriving too late to catch the Disney Junior pre-show, but the girls were so excited by our excellent seats that they didn’t mind at all. After the obligatory popcorn purchase, the show started and we settled in to enjoy the show!
Perhaps “settled in” is the wrong term to use. My favourite thing about taking the girls to a Feld Entertainment/Disney show is that at the very beginning of each show, the narrator makes a point of telling the kids that this is not a time for them to sit and be quiet; they want to hear the kids singing and see them dancing! While Rowan did spend a lot of time on either my lap or my husband’s (because she was stuffing her face with popcorn), Ashlyn spent most of Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show on her feet, dancing and jumping with excitement!
The girls loved seeing Mickey, Minnie, and especially Cinderella, but I did get a lot of questions about Daisy Duck and why wasn’t she there? The story line of going around to find different Disney characters to be a part of Mickey’s talent show is fun but to be honest, I feel that the show could stand a little update. While most of the characters that are featured in Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show are perennial favourites, there are just so many new Disney characters that would make it feel more current, like Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, any of the Fairies, the Monsters Inc crew or Olaf and Sven from Frozen. That may just be a parent perspective though because every child that I saw was experiencing the Disney magic and having a rockin’ good time!
Disclosure: I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets to Feld shows and opportunities to attend private Feld pre-Show events. Even though I receive these benefits, I always give an opinion that is 100% mine.
