I’m sure I’m not alone in this predicament. I let Ashlyn choose her own backpack in the summer and in a not-at-all-surprising turn of events, the $14 character backpack that was chosen has fallen to pieces already. I remembered that one of my friends had given her daughter a beautiful sparkly backpack and it was still in excellent condition, so I contacted Bixbee via Twitter to see if they would be interested in working together. Lucky for me, they said yes and a Bixbee Sparkalicious Backpack in Pink was on its way to our home.
I had to take a picture with the sun shining directly on it so that you could get an idea of just how sparkalicious this backpack truly is! Ashlyn’s Bixbee arrived while she was at school, and as soon as she came home and saw it, she insisted on transferring everything from her old backpack into her new ‘beautiful sparkle backpack’. As you can see, her large lunch bag, library book, correspondence bag and water bottle all fit with plenty of room to spare. We didn’t even need to touch the front pouch or the top flap!
Her backpack is a size medium, which is 13″ w x 5″ d x 11″ h and is meant for kids between 43″-49″ tall. I love the horizontal design; it seems to me that it will be a lot easier to pack and a lot easier for her to find her things in it. The back pocket where you can see the library book is actually padded and is designed to hold a 13″ tablet. As you can see below, I had no difficulty getting Ashlyn to model her new Bixbee backpack and now we’re in a funny situation where she’s happy to be off from school for a week due to March Break, but she also wants school to start right away so she can show everyone her Sparkalicious backpack!
Bixbee is also company with a wonderful social mission. Their “One Here. One There.” program means that for every backpack sold, they donate a schoolbag with supplies to a kid in need. Talk about a win/win!
One lucky reader will win a $50 gift code to Bixbee that can be used worldwide!
