Disney’s The Jungle Book Diamond Edition now available

Disney The Jungle Book Diamond EditionWith the endless winter that Ottawa has been experiencing, escaping through a movie is our favourite way to spend an afternoon, especially if that movie features a tropical location. Enter Disney’s The Jungle Book Diamond Edition, which came out of the vault on February 11!

Both of my daughters have seen the commercials for The Jungle Book so they were quite excited to hear that we would be receiving it. I wish I had a video of Rowan opening the package and exclaiming “Mommy, it’s The Jungle Book Diamond Edition” – because of the commercials emphasizing that it’s a special edition, she thinks that’s the proper name of the movie and always refers to it that way.

Now for the first time ever on Blu-ray with glorious digital high definition, Disney’s Jumpin’ Jungle Classic has never looked so lush or sounded so good! Beloved characters, swinging music and new behind-the-scenes bonus features make this Diamond Edition Blu-ray a must-have for every family’s classic collection!

Meet the most unforgettable characters and embark on a thrilling adventure with Mowgli as he journeys deep into the jungle and learns “The Bare Necessities” of life from happy-go-lucky Baloo the bear. Meet Bagheera, the wise old panther, and crazy King Louie, the orangutan. But watch out for the cunning tiger Shere Khan and Kaa, the ssssneakiest snake in the jungle!

Explore your family’s wild side as you venture into The Jungle Book for extraordinary adventures and a heartwarming tale that celebrates the true meaning of friendship.

Since it had been a while since I’d last watched this classic tale, Rowan and I watched it while big sister Ashlyn was at school, since Ashlyn gets very emotional about movies and I wasn’t sure if this would be too scary for her. While there are scary parts – the jungle fire comes to mind – I don’t think that she’ll have a problem with The Jungle Book and I know she’ll love all of the songs!
