National Geographic Kids (#giveaway x 4 winners)

2013 Holiday Gift Guide button

Books are definitely one of my favourite presents to give, receive and suggest for my daughters. It’s always fun to add to our library and as the girls get older, we can branch out from stories to facts and information-based books. I was sent a package of books from National Geographic Kids (click the link for more information): Ultimate Weird but True 2, That’s Creepy! and Are You Normal? 2. These books are aimed at kids 8-12 years old, but my 4.5 year old is enjoying flipping through the books and seeing strange things she can discover.

A bit about each book:

  • Ultimate Weird But True 2 has a fun cover with lots of sparkle, is packed with cool photos, and features the same dynamic design that made the first book such a hit. Content is all-new, with new chapter titles and even more too-strange-to-believe stories
  • That’s Creepy is crawling with spine-tingly facts, eerie anecdotes, and fun information; just don’t tell kids how much real science and history they’re actually learning!
  • Are You “Normal”? 2 has even more questions about your mind and body that will have you rating brother, best friend, and even pet hamster on a weird-o-meter scale!

As with all National Geographic Kids books, the pictures are incredible! The facts are random, interesting and very funny which is a perfect combination for kids and adults alike. These would make a great gift for a reluctant reader or a child who prefers fact to fiction. You can see more in this Kid Lit podcast hosted by Lisa Loeb.
