Sophie la girafe makes the move to books (#giveaway)

Sophie la girafe has been a constant presence in our home for the last 2.5 years. Rowan received her as a present when she was born from her uncle and she was smitten from a very young age (please forgive the crazy outfit, it was a cool morning at the cottage). She still brings her Sophie out the odd time and loves nothing more than seeing little babies with their own Sophie.

DK Publishing has recently released a series of books starring Sophie la girafe and I was more than happy to review them! There are four books in the series, which are available at retailers across North America and are recommended for children from birth to age 3:

  •  My First: Sophie la girafe® : Let’s Get Counting ($5.99) “Filled with bright, playful images of Sophie and her pals, as well as tactile tabs and lift-the-flap elements, My First: Sophie la girafe: Let’s Get Counting is ideal for encouraging early word and number recognition in young children.”
  • Peekaboo! Sophie la girafe ®: Peekaboo Sophie! ($6.99) “With fun flaps that open to reveal colorful pictures of Sophie la girafe and her friends, Peekaboo! Sophie la girafe: Peekaboo Sophie! invites children to their favorite game of peekaboo with their favorite toy.”
  • Baby Touch and Feel: Sophie la girafe ®: Sophie’s Busy Day ($5.99) “is an engaging touch-and-feel introduction to the world of Sophie la girafe. Babies will love exploring and discovering different textures—from bumpy, scaly, sticky, and shiny—as  Sophie la girafe interacts with them on the page.”
  • Baby: Sophie la girafe ®: Colors ($6.99) “Packed with bright, lively pictures, and large, simple text, all the colors of the rainbow come alive in this board book.”

I can already see that these books will make fantastic baby shower gifts! Beautifully illustrated and filled with characters with charming names like Gabin the bear and Margot the turtle, these books are perfect for little hands to hold and explore. Peekaboo Sophie! is a little larger than the others and is Rowan’s clear favourite. She never fails to be delighted to find the friends hiding behind the large flaps, and the tactile element makes reading even more fun!

One lucky reader will win their own set of Sophie la girafe books from DK Publishing!
