Sing and dance with Monkey Monkey Music’s “Let’s All Make a Circle” (giveaway)

It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years since I reviewed the Monkey Monkey Music cd “What Are the Odds?”. Meredith LeVande, creator of Monkey Monkey Music, has released her second DVD, “Let’s All Make a Circle”, featuring many of the songs that we already know and enjoy.

When I first put on “Let’s All Make a Circle”, I expected the girls to get up and dance immediately. Instead, they watched all 15 songs with incredible concentration, completely enthralled with the performance. They really enjoy watching all of the children singing and dancing and by the second viewing they were up and dancing along!

“Who’s a Knockin’?” (a song full of knock-knock jokes) is the girls’ current favourite and is quite welcome because we needed some new material for these knock-knock joke enthusiasts, while I’m still a big fan of “Air Guitar” and “Wheels”.

Meredith has a very pleasant voice and the songs are catchy without being annoying. There is a teaching guide on the inside cover that offers up ideas for how to make the songs even more interactive and educational, though I admit that so far we’ve just been singing and dancing along. You can catch Monkey Monkey Music on over 100 PBS member stations so check your local listings!

My daughters both age 2 and 4 had a great time listening and dancing to her music. Since then I now own this DVD and I can honestly say in the matter of 1 month my kids must have watched it over 100 times. It keeps them entertained, and I enjoy it too. Catchy songs, cute graphics and even educational.
