Not So Wordless Wednesday – How to throw an easy Star Wars birthday party!

I don’t usually do a theme for my daughters’ birthday parties, but Rowan is obsessed with Star Wars and once we decided to make her an R2-D2 cake I couldn’t resist checking out Pinterest (you can find me here) and I just couldn’t resist giving a Star Wars birthday party theme a try.

First, the decorations:

  • balloons from a local party store (we give each family that comes to the party at least one balloon to take home)

  • and a little something that I made with some scrapbooking paper that I had on hand and a free font that I found online

To keep the guests – we had 11 children ranging from newborn to almost 4 years old, plus their moms – busy and happy we had a little craft time where they got to decorate their own Stormtrooper mask, which doubled as their party favour:

and a little “stick the ears on Yoda” game that I made (my oldest and her best friend painted the background the day before):

And of course, the R2-D2 cake! I baked my carrot cake and my husband did the carving. I did the icing and he did the detail work. We were quite happy with how it turned out!

And so was the birthday girl!

Thanks :) The banner was a little time-consuming but I really like how it turned out! Have fun planning a Batman birthday party.

  1. […] To say that I love my necklace would be an understatement. I have the high quality stainless steel ball chain, which is 18 inches long with a 4 inch extension and lobster clasp so I can wear it at a number of lengths. The pendant has presence since it is 1.5 inches in diameter but it’s still very delicate and I find it very versatile. You can see it in action below at Rowan’s second birthday. […]
