What is it about ‘gross’ things that make them so appealing to kids of all ages? I was recently introduced to The Trash Pack, a collectible line of over 100 mini figures called TrashiesTM that look exactly like you think they will – like the stuff that gets thrown in your garbage! Adding to the fun is that the TrashieTM figures come in three different colours and they can range anywhere from common (easy to find) to ultra rare (hard to find). There are even special edition, exclusive and glow-in-the-dark TrashiesTM!
I was sent the Trash Pack Garbage Truck to review. In case you aren’t familiar with it, this is the mobile storage device for TrashiesTM. It comes with Sludge Can (looks like an oil can) and Dead Tyre (a car tire) – which are exclusively available in this set – and each character comes with his own trash can. You can store up to twelve garbage cans in the garbage truck. I think the best part is the “tip’n’flip action” of the wheelie bin launcher at the back – you can load up the TrashiesTM inside and dump them into the garbage truck, or launch a TrashiesTM from the top and try to knock down a tower of garbage cans. I have a feeling this is going to be a toy that will be popular with both my 3.5 year old and her Daddy once she unwraps it on Christmas Day!
Because of the small size of the TrashiesTM, these toys are recommended for children ages 5+ and is available exclusively at Toys ‘R’ Us for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $19.99.
