We finally got to Mountain Apple Orchards to pick some apples on the weekend and I’m so glad that we did! The girls had a blast picking – and eating – apples right from the tree, and we scored some delicious apple cider, apple donuts and a tart cherry and apple jelly that I’m planning to use on a baked brie soon. Next year we’ll be sure to go over the Labour Day weekend to get the honeycrisps!

This is actually the thing I am most looking forward to doing with Annika next year (and the year after, and the year after that). We have tons of local orchards, and an awesome corn maze, and a ton of farms that participate in Open Farm Day, and, and, and… there are a ton of great things to do with kids in the fall, and I’m so excited to pass on my love of this season to my daughter.
