Red Envelope

True confession: I avoid shopping at malls with my girls whenever possible.  Groceries?  Bring it on.  Big box store?  No fear.  But a mall full of people and distractions and a hundred reasons for a toddler and/or preschooler to throw a raging tantrum, no thank you.  Besides, Ashlyn is old enough now that I can’t buy her presents in front of her anyways because she remembers everything, so I’ll be doing a lot of online shopping this year.  Enter Red Envelope!

Full of gift ideas for everyone on your shopping list, Red Envelope even has their Christmas sneak peak up which is full of unique gift ideas.  I had fun browsing around one afternoon, trying to decide what to order.  Unfortunately for me, there was a really cute children’s beach towel that I selected and was able to add to my cart, only to discover at the end of the check out that it was out of stock.  Those towels stayed up on the site for at least a week after I tried to order them!

I settled on a personalized story for my 3.5 year old called “My Very Own Fairy Tale”.  Since she’s a bookworm and in a very big fairy phase, I thought it would go over well and I was right!

Once I saw how beautiful the book was, I couldn’t keep it until Christmas.  Ashlyn loves looking at all of the detailed illustrations and thinks it’s amazing that the fairies are spelling out her own name in her book.  I was very impressed at how quickly my order was shipped; I was only given dates at the end of October to choose for delivery yet it was sent out days after I placed my order and was ready for pick up last week!

How are you planning on getting your holiday shopping done – in stores, online or a combination?

I was sent a gift code to use at Red Envelope; the opinions on this blog are always my own.
