The Gruffalo’s Child (giveaway)

I live in a house full of bookworms so it’s always fun when books that we enjoy are turned into movies.  We loved reading and watching The Gruffalo and now we can enjoy the sequel, The Gruffalo’s Child.

In The Gruffalo’s Child, the Gruffalo tells his child an extraordinary story of “The Big Bad Mouse,” warning her never to go in the woods alone because there is a terrible creature lurking there. Waiting until her father falls asleep, the Gruffalo’s Child sneaks out into the deep dark woods to see The Big Bad Mouse for herself. Along the way she runs into a snake, an owl, and a fox and discovers that while they have similar features to The Big Bad Mouse, they are, in fact, not him. Just as she is about to give up her search, she stumbles upon a tiny mouse. Cautious of her, the mouse listens to what the Gruffalo’s Child is looking for, and then decides to reveal his big bad secret!

The Gruffalo’s Child is full of celebrity voices that you will recognize (the most easily identifiable one for me was Helena Bonham Carter as the narrator, Mother Squirrel).  I really enjoy the quietness of this movie – if you have young children I’m sure you understand what I mean by that – and the animation style looks like a children’s book come to life.

The Gruffalo’s Child will be released on August 14th (SRP $9.99) and you can find it at Toys “R” Us, Target, Kmart, Amazon, and also NCircle Entertainment. Check out NCircle Entertainment on Facebook for more fun prizes!
