Do you have a travel bucket list? I don’t have an official one, but now that our family is getting out of the baby phase my husband and I are thinking more and more about the places we’d like to travel – with and without our daughters! We’re in the planning phase of a trip to New York City in the fall so I’ve been looking through 1,000 Places To Visit Before You Die to get some ideas.
“The #1 New York Times bestseller returns this fall re-researched, retraveled, and rewritten with 200 new entries, 28 additional countries, 200 more pages, and more than 600 full-color photographs. And an engaging and interactive companion app for the iPad will be released simultaneously with the book’s publication. Offering a fresh new take on the world we live in now, it enables both armchair travelers and savvy globetrotters to get an inspiring taste of the world’s current riches and plan their next trip.”

Organized by geography, each entry includes information about the location and recommendations for things to see, places to stay and restaurants to eat at. I particularly enjoy that there are prices included so you know right off the bat if something is going to work with your budget or not, and there are phone numbers and websites so you can do further research – or book a reservation!
I’ve wanted to go to Europe for the longest time but haven’t made it yet. After watching this clip of the Amalfi Coast (Italy), I have another destination to add to my wish list!
THREE lucky readers will each win a copy of 1,000 Places To See Before You Die!

Just this week there was a post at simplemom.net where the author (who has travelled overseas with her kids a lot) discussed some of her hard-learned tips and tricks for travelling with kids. The comment board for that post is also FULL of helpful information.
My tip is to pack light if you plan on shopping and buying new clothes on vacation
thanks
When flying drink strictly water to keep hydrated and keep jet lag to a minimum.
When traveling, don’t forget to pack a bunch of bandaids. Chances are, you’ll be doing some extra walking while you explore & your feet might need a bandaid or two.

My best tip: Bring lots and lots of things for your kids to do!
Keep your money and passport hidden and in a safe place at all times.
While the world has become a smaller place and it’s certainly not impossible to replace travel documents or credit cards, it can put a real damper on your holiday having to take time out to deal with the theft of important items.
Don’t post on Facebook that you are going on vacation.

I like to take a lightweight, fold-able empty bag inside o one of my suitcases so I have something to pack any new items I buy in. Thanks for the chance to win!

When travelling with little ones babywearing is the EASIEST way to get us through airports! And fantastic to get around and explore any destination once you’re there!
Pack light – if possible just bring enough for carry on. It’s so much easier to travel this way.
My best travel tip is take your time, don’t schedule too many things in one day.
Keep your passport in a safest way, pack as light as possible and always be conscious
Bring a travel alarm clock.
Have fun, be safe and keep track of your kids and wallet.

Always keep your wallet, passport and credit cards on you. Losing any of them would be disasterous!

Pack clothing that is one or two basic colours. That will make it easy to coordinate accessories and shoes.
