Snuggle Bugz is my kind of baby store: Canadian (so no worries about delays at the border or unexpected duty or fees) and full of the brands and products that I want to own! With online shopping – currently they offer free shipping with orders over $40 – and a physical store – so you can even order online and pick up in the store to save on shipping fees! – it’s the best of both worlds.
One item that really caught my eye as I was looking around the Snuggle Bugz website was the GroClock by Gro Company (makers of those fabulous Grobag sleep sacks). Up until fairly recently, Ashlyn loved to sleep in. I’m not sure what happened but out of nowhere she started getting up far too early for my liking and my husband actually found her in the family room one morning playing with her toys when he came down to leave for work! We started closing the safety gate at the top of the stairs after that, but there had to be a better way to get her to at least stay in her room until a reasonable hour.
The GroClock has fixed our early mornings! With blue stars at night and a cheerful yellow sun during ‘wake’ hours, it’s easy for Ashlyn to tell if she should be in bed or if it’s time for her to get up for the day. There’s even a digital clock so as she gets older, she can see what time it is. I love that the smaller stars around the edge of the clock disappear as it gets closer to wake up time. I wish we’d had this clock when Ashlyn was still napping because it has a nap function as well.
Ashlyn loves to set the clock herself before bedtime and watch the sun go down and the stars come out. I set the ‘lock’ function when she’s not looking so that she can’t accidentally turn the sun on in the morning before I want her to get up and we’re good to go. One morning I went in a minute before her sun was to come up and was met with an indignant 3 year old: “Mommy, the sun is NOT up, it is not morning yet!” We haven’t had any early morning wanderings since we started using our GroClock and since I don’t find it too babyish I think it will be in her room for years to come.

Clearly I’m not the only fan, since Snuggle Bugz has the GroClock listed as a popular item on their homepage!
One lucky reader will win a GroCompany GroClock from Snuggle Bugz!

Ignore my entry, I didn’t read the Canadian only until I clicked—moral of story–no computer at 2am.
