Ottawa Butterfly Show

I took the girls to the annual biology butterfly show at Carleton University this morning.  We tried to go yesterday but the lineup was way too long for a toddler’s attention span.  We had a good time, despite a pooplosion that meant poor Rowan was wearing only a sweater and a blanket as an outfit (the car seat AND stroller covers are in the wash) and Ashlyn alternating between fits because she wasn’t holding a butterfly and the butterflies coming too close. The exhibit is FREE and on until Read more […]

What’s for dessert – Pumpkin Spice Latte cupcakes

It’s no secret that I love my coffee in almost any form.  I saw the recipe for Pumpkin Spice Latte cupcakes on my Facebook feed a week or two ago and have been waiting for a free afternoon to bake them.  Today it finally worked out and this is the results.   Even Ashlyn likes the cupcakes – what 2.5 year old likes something coffee flavoured?  And now I have a jar full of vanilla bean caramel sauce (except that I cheated and just used a teaspoon of vanilla instead of a vanilla bean – still Read more […]

Wordless Wednesday – Vegas!

2 years ago this week, we were in Vegas for my brother in law’s wedding.  We lost our DSLR while we were there (no, I still don’t want to talk about it *tear*) but I found these pictures on my husband’s cell the other day.  Ashlyn was only 4.5 months old here!

Lil Punkin Creations (giveaway)

I have such a weakness for Etsy stores, especially ones that are run by moms.  Lil Punkin Creations is based out of Wisconsin and was started by Julie, a very busy working mom with a little boy who was the inspiration for her store’s name.  Lil Punkin Creations sells wooden and paper banners as well as my new favourite decor item, vinyl decals! Not limiting herself to walls, Julie has a whole line of decals that have been created just for your kitchen mixer! I recieved the swirl flourishes Read more […]
