Our Halloween Traditions

Halloween is my husband’s favourite holiday, and this year it may be Ashlyn’s favourite too!  Between the costumes and her first year of Trick or Treating, she’s one excited kid.  This weekend we went to a local pumpkin patch (the same one that we visited last year) for our annual pumpkin hunt!

Ashlyn picked out a perfect little pumpkin that we’ll decorate later this week – since she’s too little to carve a pumpkin, she’s going to paint hers – and I decided on a white pumpkin for a bit of a change.

Trick or treating is going to be very exciting for us this year, but for a few of our friends it’s going to be a big challenge.  This past year a few of Ashlyn’s little friends have been diagnosed with peanut allergies so we have become more aware of how prevalent they are and how scary things can be for the little ones (and their parents)!  Because of this, our family wants to make sure that the candy we are handing out is safe for any child to enjoy.

We will be handing out Allan Candy Halloween treats to all the little trick or treaters that come to our door.  Made in Canada and peanut-free, they offer a huge variety: Allan Intense Jubes & Jellies, Allan Chewy Rascalz and Allan Fruit Buddies (including my personal favourite, Peach Slices!).   Look for them at major retailers near you, including Wal-Mart and Loblaws.

What are you handing out this Halloween?

Disclosure – I am participating in the Allan Candy Company program by Mom Central Canada.  I received compensation for my participation in this campaign.  The opinions on this blog are my own.
