UncommonGoods

Shopping for baby shower gifts is a lot of fun, but trying not to buy the same thing as everyone else can be a challenge!  Especially for the second baby, finding unique baby gifts can take a bit of digging.

UncommonGoods takes the guesswork out by having a handy “gift finder” option.  Just select the recipient, price range and/or occasion and voila – tons of suggestions tailored to your specifications.  While it’s tempting to buy cute little clothes for a new baby, some of my favourite gifts have been things that we won’t be able to use until a few months down the road.

Rowan received the Peek o Fabric activity box for ages 6+ months.  At 4.5 months old now, she is fascinated by all of the different sides of the box and loves when her older sister opens them to reveal suprises like a mirror or ribbons.  Her favourite part by far is Ozlo, the little dog who lives inside the box!  My favourite part is the teething ring on one side that also allows me to to attach it to her car seat or stroller for entertainment on the go.

The sling cabinet closures set of 4 are a great gift for any family with young children.  These are far more discrete and attractive than the other cabinet locks that we own, and they work much better too.  We finally own something my 2 year old can’t open on us!  While it might seem like a strange thing to include in a baby shower gift, it truly feels like you wake up one morning and all of a sudden the whole house needs to be baby-proofed, so having safety items already in the house is a lifesaver.

With everything from unique birthday gifts to cool gift ideas for men, UncommonGoods is a site I’ll be visiting again and again!
