Skin care is very important to me. Between all of the diaper changes, meal preparations, dishes, and the general chaos of a house with a baby and a toddler, my hands take a beating. I’m afraid to count how many times a day I wash my hands! This leaves them dry and irritated, especially in the dry winter.
I was sent a bottle of Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion to try and I’ve really been putting it to the test lately! I was interested to see what makes it different from the other lotions that I have used in the past. The shielding lotion prevents dry skin in two ways: by assisting the inner layers of skin to absorb moisture, and by enhancing the top layer of the skin to resist environmental irritants while protecting the inner natural moisture.
According to the bottle, you should apply a small amount every 2-8 hours initially, then move to every 12-24 hours. I’ve never timed it, I just put some on every so often after I’ve washed my hands (again) and they feel dry (again). You really only need to use a small amount! The shielding lotion has no scent and absorbs very quickly. I definitely notice a difference when I use it and it’s moved from my bathroom to beside the kitchen sink so that it’s accessible during the day.
