Learning Curve has expanded their line of Chuggington toys with the new Chuggington Interactive Railway. I’m embarrassed to admit that before this review, I hadn’t exposed Ashlyn to trains for some reason. I guess I just didn’t think she would be that interested in them – boy was I wrong!
We were sent the Chuggington Interactive Railway Wash & Fuel Starter Set and it has become one of the most popular toys in our house. This set includes an overhead signal and figure 8 layout (which you can see in the picture below), as well as the Brewster engine, Chug Wash and Fuel Depot.
There are some really fun features on this set. Featuring SmartTalk™ technology, the engines interact with their surroundings. The Fuel Station has water, electricity and gas for the train and each pump makes a different sound; Brewster also has different comments depending on what your child decides to fill him up with. Ashlyn’s favourite part is the wash station where she can pretend to wash and dry Brewster over and over.
The set is incredibly easy to set up and take apart – or I assume it’s easy to take apart, since Ashlyn hasn’t let me do that yet! I like that the fuel and wash stations have on/off switches, and I can’t wait to get Ashlyn a different Interactive Railway set to see the engines talk to each other and hear how they respond to the different stations.
Available exclusively at Toys R Us, the Chuggington line is recommended for ages 3+.
