Kranky Krab is a fabulous store that I first came across on Etsy, which features all sorts of custom art created by Tracy Hopkins. Tracy has her Associates and Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration from The American Academy of Art in Chicago and she puts this education to great use by illustrating custom children’s artwork which is then scanned and printed using only the highest quality archival inks and finest acid free museum grade paper available.
For review, I chose the Alphabet Nursery Art in blues and greens. At 14×11 inches, it’s big enough that you can easily identify what all of the animals are, and my toddler loves to point to them and try to name them all! We’ll be putting this up in our basement in the play area once it’s all done. Here it is leaning up against the wall so that you can get the general idea of how it will look in the room:
The colours are so vibrant and the animals are so fun, yet it isn’t something that the girls will outgrow in a few months. I’m more than happy to have this on display in our home and I’m sure we’ll get many compliments on it over the years that we’ll have it on the wall!
Kranky Krab also does custom name art that would be beautiful in any nursery or kid’s bedroom. This is especially nice for children who have more unusual names or unique spellings, who wouldn’t otherwise be able to find anything with their names on it. Then there are the magnets that I really wanted to get because I think they’re adorable, but our stainless steel appliances aren’t magnetic so we have no where to use them. I know Ashlyn (and Rowan in a few years) would love the new pendants that are on Kranky Krab’s Etsy store; my favourite is the Cuddles Monster!
