Swaddle Designs – Baby Shower Event review & giveaway

Getting a good night’s sleep is a number 1 priority for most new parents. Since brand-new babies can need a lot of help to get to sleep (and stay that way), anything that helps is invaluable! With our daughter, swaddling was crucial but it was almost impossible to do in the teeny receiving blankets that many people tend to give as gifts. This time, I’ll be prepared from the first moments thanks to Swaddle Designs!

For review, I was sent the Ultimate Receiving Blanket in Kiwi Puppytooth. I wanted something gender neutral but a little different than the standard “baby” print and I love the vibrant green of this houndstooth pattern. Swaddle Designs Ultimate Receiving Blankets are all made of preshrunk cotton flannel that is so soft I want one in my size. Although, since the blanket measures an impressive 42 x 42 inches, I can almost use it as is!

The best part of the Swaddle Designs line is that they all come with the instructions sewn onto a tag on the blanket! This means that even if it’s Grandma or an uncle doing the honours, they’ll be able to swaddle like a pro. It’s also great for those of us who may be a little rusty with our swaddling technique, especially during the middle of the night when things are a little more foggy than usual.

Swaddle Designs also has a Safe Sleep Practices page on their site, which includes The SwaddleDesigns Goldilocks Guide™ that was created to help parents remember the importance of temperature awareness : “baby should be dressed appropriately for the current temperature of their environment – not too hot, not too cold, but comfortably warm.” That sounds like a rule of thumb we should all follow for a good night’s sleep!
