Twice As Nice Boutique – review & giveaway

Twice As Nice Boutique is an Etsy store run by a mom, and it shows!  Karen makes quality sleep sacks in gorgeous fabrics that rival any that you can find in a baby boutique, but without the huge price tag.

For review, I was sent a Teal Leaves sleep sack in size 12-24 months.  The fabric is gorgeous, and it’s fully lined with a matching teal flannel which keeps Ashlyn cozy without overheating.  This is a great weight for all seasons, as far as I can tell – it wouldn’t be too hot in the summer (except on the very hottest days, but we would have the air conditioning on so I still liked her to be in a sleep sack) and would be warm enough with a heavier pair of jammies in the winter.   As you can see, Ashlyn was thrilled to try it out the first night!

The first thing that I noticed was that the zipper zips down, which is such a key thing for us!  Ashlyn has recently learned how to work a zipper and we had problems with her unzipping the sack before she’s fall asleep and waking up cold.  This way, the zip is at the bottom of the sack when it’s done up and she’s not tempted to fiddle with it while she falls asleep!

Another unusual feature is that all of the sleep sacks have a slit in the back so that you can safely put your child in the sack, then fasten them into their carseat, without having to worry about excess fabric compromising the safety of the carseat.  I’ve never seen this feature before and I can see it being handy, especially on long car trips.  Now, I do have to mention that one night, my little Houdini did manage to get her foot through the slit, but she’s not done it since and it wasn’t a big problem for us.

If you’re a crafty mama, Karen sells patterns so you can make your own, and she’s more than happy to do custom orders if there is a particular size/colour that you’d like, but isn’t currently in stock.
