GoGreen Pocket Diapers are new on the cloth diapering scene. After Leah had her third child, she realized that the financial and environmental costs of diapering all three of her children was just too much and she began looking for a solution. Impressed by the “name brand” pocket diapers but not the cost, she found a company that made diapers that were of equal quality but with a much smaller price tag, and she launched GoGreen Pocket Diapers in September of 2010.
For review, I was sent a printed silky diaper in Crazy Morning, which is a bold, gender-neutral print, and a fuzzy diaper in Moo, which is a fluffy cow print. Picking a print might be the hardest part of deciding to order with GoGreen – I think they add new prints daily. After one wash, I started putting them to use and can happily say that they were incredibly absorbent from the first wear! We haven’t had a single leak yet and I’m not expecting any problems in the future.
As I have mentioned once or twice before, I’m not a fan of Velcro, so I really love that these diapers have snaps! One thing that is different for me is that these diapers only have one set of snaps, which is at the waist. It hasn’t posed a problem for us, but I could see it being a problem if there was a large size difference between baby’s waist and thighs. Stuffing them is easy – just put the insert in the back pocket and you’re done. I love that the pocket has elastic to keep the insert inside, where it belongs!
All of GoGreen’s diapers feature leak-proof PUL exteriors, fleecy interiors and 3-layer microfiber inserts. They are a one-size diaper with 2 settings for a small/medium/large fit, depending on the size of your baby. We’re on the biggest size right now, which is typical of any other brand that we use, considering my daughter is almost a year and a half old now and well over 20 pounds. The diapers fit quite trim, since they don’t have a bulky insert. I imagine they would fit quite nicely on a smaller baby, and will find out for sure in March or April.
Here’s my cutie modelling Crazy Morning (and checking out her belly button).
With prices under $10 for the diaper and insert, and $5 flat-rate shipping in the USA, even newbies who aren’t sure if cloth diapering is for them can afford to give it a try! Leah also has a great FAQ section that answers all your questions about how many to order, how to care for GoGreen diapers, and more.
