Toddlers get a bad rap, but there are definitely more than a few good points to having your baby grow up! In no particular order, some of my favourite things about this stage.
- Toddlers have a sense of humour. They’re funny and silly, sometimes even on purpose!
- They learn something new every day – although sometimes it’s how to unroll the toilet paper.
- They’re getting old enough to entertain themselves for small periods of time – enough for me to check my email most mornings at least.
- “On purpose” snuggles.
- Kisses. Blown by hand or right on the mouth, it’s the sweetest thing.
- Going to the store no longer requires a huge diaper bag. Snacks, sippy cup and a spare diaper, just in case – that can fit in a real purse!
- They’re interactive now and you can play real games!
- Story time is more about stories and less about eating the book.
- They’re learning to communicate, so there’s less guessing about why they’re crying.
- They’re so cute!

This is so sweet
And oh so true!
