I admit it, I treat my daughter like a doll sometimes. I love to dress her in cute outfits, and accessories are very important! Hats and shoes (when I can keep them on her) are a great way to have fun with her look and I’m excited to share this company with my readers – even if it’s a little warm right now for cute knit hats, as a Canadian, I know that the colder weather is not far off!
I first “met” Joelle of Sweet Struedel Knits when we were in the same “mommy month group” on an online forum when we were pregnant. She started out making adorable hats for friends, family and h
er sweet little boy, and after recieving numerous requests, she started a website so other people could get their hands on her work! For review, she sent me a Loopy Pixie hat and matching booties in the Neapolitan yarn.
I think the Loopy Pixie might be my favourite of Sweet Struedel Knit’s hats because of the way it sticks straight up! It’s a little big on my girl right now, but that’s good because it will fit her nicely in the fall and through the winter. The Neapolitan yarn would have matched last year’s fall coat perfectly! I love that this hat has earflaps on it.
I couldn’t get a shot of her wearing the booties – she’s in a big “I can take off my shoes Mommy, look!” phase right now – but they are soft and comfortable looking, and the buttons are adorable!
I have washed and dried all of the pieces and they look just as good as they did when I took them out of the envelope! I wasn’t worried about them shrinking, as there was room to grow (which I much prefer over ordering something too small!) but I didn’t notice any difference in the sizing when they came out of the dryer.
If you want to keep up to date on sales and new styles, join Sweet Struedel Knits on Facebook. Joelle is also donating 10% of all of her proceeds for the month of June to her local food bank to purchase formula, so if you’re looking for an exuse to buy a hat now instead of in the fall, this is a good one!

To enter, visit Sweet Struedel Knits and tell me which yarn you’d pick for your hat and booties (required).

What a tough choice, but if I were to win, I think I'd go with a terra cotta and maize color combo. They're such bright cheery colors. This is such beautiful work. Keeping my fingers crossed!
