One Posh Baby ~ Review & Giveaway

If you’ve been reading my blog for the last couple of weeks, you know all about the cloth diapers that we use on our daughter. One Posh Baby was started by Melissa shortly after her son was born. She was a cloth-diapering momma and understood how confusing it can be at the beginning, and she wanted to share her passion and expertise with other moms (and dads) who were interested in making the cloth diaper commitment. She is based out of Edmonton and offers one-on-one consultations to other locals, as well as a $20 Diaper Trial that is open to all Canadians!

For review, I was lucky enough to try out a Rumparooz One-Size Pocket Diaper in the adorable Whale Tail pattern. Rumparooz have 4 size settings and come with 2 inserts (a 1-size insert that has snaps so you can adjust the size, and a newborn insert that is contoured between the legs to reduce bulk, and that can be snapped to the 1-size insert for additional absorbancy). The really innovative, unique thing about Rumparooz is the double inner gusset that contains even the messiest mess your baby can provide!

We received our Rumparooz right before our big move across the country, so it was one of the 8 diapers we packed to take along with us (suitcase space was at a premium). Needless to say, it got put to the test!

What I like:

  • the colours and patterns available from Rumparooz are incredible!
  • they are very easy to stuff
  • not too bulky
  • very absorbant
  • the gussets and poop scoop are genius
  • lots of stretch in the legs and at the waist to get the best possible fit. Here’s my little girl modelling her Whale Tail and showing off her recent pulling-up/standing skills.

Not a fan:

  • the only thing I worry about is the rise – I’m afraid that it will become too short before she outgrows it weight-wise. However, there is a lot of stretch to the diaper, so I’m probably worrying for nothing.

Melissa was sweet enough to send me a sample of Rockin’ Green cloth diaper detergent to make sure I was taking care of my new diaper properly. When washing cloth diapers, you have to make sure that you’re using the right kind of detergent – something that will rinse out and not leave any residue, that doesn’t use any enzymes and is dye-free. Rockin’ Green checks all those boxes and so many more! I got the unscented version, which worked very nicely, but there are also fabulous sounding (and smelling) choices like Cherry Almond, Cherry Lemonade and Fresh Linen.
